Travel Choices & Wildlife Trusts Team Up for Half Term Walk

Thursday 25 October @ 10.30 am

See and Be Seen

If you’re looking for something to the get the children away from games consoles and out into the fresh air this October half-term, then look no further!

Travel Choices has teamed up with The Wildlife Trusts (Beds, Cambs & Northants) to bring you a super, family-friendly event.  Take a walk with one of our knowledgeable team to Blow’s Down, an area designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The steep, chalk hills of this 190-acre site, are home to colourful grasslands and areas of scrub that provide shelter for lots of birds, plants and insects, not commonly seen in our gardens. Keep your eyes peeled too for migrating birds such as wheatear, stonechat, whinchat and ring ouzel, stopping off to feed before flying off for winter.

The mile-long walk, which is gentle and mostly off road will double as a treasure hunt to keep younger children engaged.  Once at Blow’s Downs, children (and accompanying adults) will be treated to some entertaining, storytelling before making some, wildlife-themed, crafty creations to take home; plus every child gets a Travel Choices goody bag.

The walk is completely free but places are limited so booking is essential.Don’t delay, book your place today! For further information or to book your place, call us on 01582 813018 or email sharon.thompson@sustrans.org.uk
