Bike Recycling Event - Wednesday 21 August

We want your unwanted bikes!

We will be holding another bike donation event at the Travel Choices Hub, 1 Ashton Square, Dunstable on Wednesday 21 August 11am to 3pm.

A total of 165 bikes have been collected from recycling events this year, and many of these bikes have already been refurbished and have proud new owners!

Since the Bike Recycling Scheme, which is run jointly with Luton Borough Council and Bedford Borough Council, started in April 2017 around 600 bikes have been saved from the scrapheap and re-homed.

In many cases, these bikes change lives; some have helped long-term unemployed people get back into work and others have provided a source of transport and independence for children in care.

So, if you have a bike that’s lying in the back of the shed, why not bring it along to the Hub and give it a second chance to be a lifeline for someone who needs one?

If you have any questions about bike recycling or you’d like to get a list of recycled bikes currently available contact the Travel Choices team at travelchoices@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk
