Explore park life this summer

With schools now closed until September, remember that there’s lots of free activities and outdoor spaces you can enjoy with your kids. Central Bedfordshire Council owns and maintains 30 children’s play areas. You can find details of them all on the council’s website

Over the next six weeks, the council is running the Xplorer challenge so that kids can try a free orienteering challenge at some local parks.

Xplorer is a family-friendly navigation challenge that’s educational and fun, giving children a sense of adventure as they explore their local park. Click here for a list of dates and venues

And this week we are celebrating Love Parks Week by holding a series of activities to inspire people of all ages to play, explore, exercise and relax, running from until 2 August.

As part of the celebrations there will be lots of events throughout the week in Central Bedfordshire, a number of them free to attend, ranging from Bug Labs at various locations, open-air theatre, outdoor fitness sessions, children's activities and much more. All the events are available on the council’s Love Parks Week page
