The rail network in Central Bedfordshire

Central Bedfordshire is well connected to the National Rail network with three strategically important rail lines.

East Coast Mainline - between London and Scotland via the North East and Yorkshire.

Midland Mainline - between London and Sheffield via the East Midlands.

Train Operating Companies

Govia Thameslink is a train operating company that operates two franchises within Central Bedfordshire. One between London Kings Cross and Peterborough on the East Coast Mainline serving Sandy, Biggleswade and Arlesey, and the other operates between London St Pancras and Bedford on the Midland Mainline serving Flitwick and Harlington.

West Midlands Railway is the train operating company that operates between London Euston and Birmingham along the West Coast Mainline, stopping at Leighton Buzzard.

Southern Railway also stops at Leighton Buzzard, providing services between Milton Keynes and East Croydon via West London.
